London, England – April 23, 2023 – Rivulet Artisan Pecan Liqueur is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a Silver Medal at the 6th edition London Spirits Competition, which recently took place March 22-24, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church in London’s Marylebone. The London Spirits Competition was established in 2018 to highlight the best wine and spirit producers in the world. The mission is to recognize, reward, and help promote spirits brands that have successfully been created to identify with and target a specific spirits drinker. For any spirits brand to earn its place on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s spirits list – and then vitally stay there – they need to be marketable and consumer-driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it.
Spirits are judged based on three distinct criteria: Quality, Value, and Packaging.

“To be an award winner at the LSC, you need to have top-quality spirits, that offer both the trade and the consumer great value for money, and you need to look good and truly stand out on the shelf and on the back bar,” according to CEO Sid Patel, of the event organizer Beverage Trade Network. Quality is measured considering the following characteristics of the beverage: Appearance, Aroma, Body, Taste, and Aftertaste. The objective is also to understand how well a particular spirit is priced and what value it offers, the greater the quality offered for the price, the greater the value score will be. Creative design, label quality, label details, back-bar appeal, store shelf appeal, and functionality (including shape, size, weight, and ease of pouring) is considered in the Packaging area.

Winners are also be promoted in Beverage Trade Network’s London media asset The London Drinks Guide. A record number of entrants this year were vying for the much-coveted bronze, silver, and gold medals, with about 2000 spirits brands entering from more than 80 countries. The competition prides itself on consistently being assessed by a top panel of judges, consisting of some of the world’s leading figures from the hospitality sector. Patel also mentioned that “Spirits brand consumers are looking for a comprehensive experience when drinking a spirit. The spirit needs to hit all the right notes to be enjoyed again and again. So, at the London Spirits Competition, we evaluate spirits that contribute to a spirit ’s overall drinkability. Along with quality, spirits are also assessed for their appearance and value.”
