Rivulet™ Artisan Pecan Liqueur Takes Home Gold At International Craft Spirits Awards

Los Angeles, California – May 10, 2014 – Rivulet Artisan Pecan Liqueur is pleased to announce that it has taken home the top Gold Medal at the International Craft Spirits Awards Competition, which held on May 5th-8th, 2014, in Los Angeles, California. 

This year’s competition consisted of a wide variety of entries from craft distillers that use the finest available ingredients, resulting in unique craft spirits that stand out from the mass-produced brands. The finest small craft brands were judged by an expert panel of a two dozen highly trained experts, using a complete blind multi-level tasting process. Judges used a 100-point scale on a variety of attributes, including appearance, taste, aromatics, mouthfeel and finishing characteristics. 

Each of these subsets has varying ultimate scores. Then, the scores are tabulated and results are determined. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are then presented to only the top tier of craft spirit brands entered. Not all brands entered are even awarded a medal. The international Craft Spirits Awards Competition is considered to be the top competition of its kind, and winning a medal here is considered to be a tremendous achievement.

The judges are a panel of two dozen trained industry tasting experts. These judges are familiar with wines and spirits, and they are in a unique position to evaluate products according to objective quality standards. The multi-level tasting process and weighted attribute ratings assure that only the highest quality products are awarded a medal.

The International Craft Spirit Awards Competition has become an increasingly popular and important international spirits competition, due to its focus on the emerging world of independent craft spirit producers. The winners in each category have proven themselves superior to the competition, worthy of the highest honors from an expert panel of highly trained critics.
